Theory
We all know that all mental( ideological) systems are products of real social and economic existence. Table Ball was borne from this reality. Faced with the reality of a crumbling system athletic competition- where athletes are prized for their revenue potential rather than their athletic prowess- a small group of individuals realized there had to be a better way.
That way is Table Ball. While regulation Table Balls are priced near 20 dollars US, anything can function as a Table Ball if necessary. The same follows true for the Table court (playing area). At its heart, Table Ball is an egalitarian sport based on the central ideas of collectivism and accessibility. The theory behind Table Ball is based loosely upon the idea that “It is not the consciousness of men that determines their being, but, on the contrary, their social being that determines their consciousness” (Marx 48).
Karl Marx, an early adopter of Table Ball, promoted Table Ball as a competitive outlet for the Marxist struggle. The relative accessibility and facility of the sport allowed for widespread adoption amongst the Bolsheviks. The Bolsheviks developed a rudimentary version of Table Ball or "Tablitsa Myach" as they call it that involved tiny explosives, similar to pop-its explosives in America. The idea behind "Tablitsa Myach" was to train everyday people to work within a popular activity to plot the overthrow of the Monarchy. The Bolsheviks were ultimately able to defeat the Mensheviks through their skills. The precision with which they operated has rarely been seen.
Today, Table Ball operates with an open-door policy- "All are welcome. All are capable." This idea initially attributed Hegel but probably created by Goethe- the idea that every era has a spirit, or rather a Zeitgeist. Table Ball embodies a spirit that spans millennia. It is not within the spirit of an era, rather it is an eternal spirit and reflection of the constant, current, and ongoing class struggles.
As of this date, Table Ball has not succumbed to the Capital Crypto Bros that are currently plaguing global football
